Booderee National Park

Friday 14 December 2018

The Department of Defence is investigating potential PFAS contamination stemming from the historical use of liquid fire-fighting foams at Jervis Bay Range Facility and HMAS Creswell.

The Department of Defence has tested sites in Booderee National Park and no elevated levels of PFAS contamination have been found at any of the park’s visitation areas.

We understand however that some people are concerned and have questions about the PFAS investigation.

To address questions that recreational users of Booderee National Park may have about the PFAS investigation, we have consolidated information about the PFAS investigation into a factsheet.

The Department of Defence is continuing its PFAS investigation. Should any of the advice for Booderee National Park be updated, we will provide updates to visitors on this website.
