An exhibition of watercolour paintings and drawings developed by the Painting with Parkinsons Group - an art therapy program working with those who have Parkinsons Disease and their carers.
Over its 22 year history, the Group has attracted widespread attention both for its therapeutic impact as well as the quality of the artwork which has emerged from the program resulting in exhibitions which have been held both nationally and internationally (America, Europe and the UK). Over this period much of the success of the program has been due to its location in the Banks Building and to the ambient qualities of the Botanic Gardens.
The exhibition will be composed around 6 themes and using the context of the Gardens as an evocation for each of these themes through a series of focused workshop sessions:
• Growth
• Earth
• Canopy
• Regeneration
• Wildlife
• Light
