Australian National Botanic Gardens

27–28 January or 3–4 February (2 days), 10.00 am–3.00 pm — Banks Building

This summer, escape the blazing sun under the rainforest canopy with award winning contemporary artist Genevieve Swifte.

This immersive landscape course engages all of the senses to develop a series of drawings inspired by the flora, fauna, weather and light of the Garden’s temperate Rainforest Gully.

The workshop will draw upon Genevieve’s PhD research and will incorporate alternative photographic processes and the amplification of trees and birdsong, allowing participants to access the hidden life of the forest to inform their drawings with both the sights and sounds of the environment.

The class welcomes young artists from thirteen years of age, creative professionals, complete beginners and people with all levels of ability. An ideal Christmas gift, beautifully printed vouches are available and discounts are also offered to Friends of the ANBG.

For more information or to enrol, please contact Genevieve directly at or visit her website.

Christmas Gift Vouchers are also available.
