Australian National Botanic Gardens

Important COVID-19 update - The Australian National Botanic Gardens welcomes visitors to the Gardens from 8.30 am to 5 pm every day (except 25 December). Visitors will need to comply with the COVID-19 safety measures that remain in place at the Gardens in line with the Covid-19 guidelines set out by the ACT’s COVID-19 Pathway Forward and COVID-19 response.

Stroll on the grass, hug a mighty tree and listen to a chorus of beautiful birdsong.

The Eucalypt Lawn offers plenty of spots to relax in the shade of more than 70 different types of eucalypts. Around one-fifth of Australia’s iconic eucalypt species are represented here, scattered around a soft green lawn.

This is a great place to enjoy a picnic or our summertime concerts and outdoor cinema.

The Burbidge Amphitheatre is situated in the upper part of the Eucalypt Lawn. The Ducrou Pavilion is also on the lawn and is a popular picnic spot for groups.
