Kakadu Bird Week
Kakadu is home to more than a third of Australia’s bird species. Reward yourself when joining traditional owners, Parks Australia and local birding specialists to celebrate the Top End’s diverse birdlife during Kakadu Bird Week 1-7 October, 2017.
Kakadu Bird Week 2016 was a great hit, with free birding activities, expert-guided tours and specials accommodation and touring offers.
Join us in 2017 for an even greater bird-filled week of events.

Parks Week - Connect with Nature
Parks week is held mid March each year, with a great activities to get involved in.
This week-long celebration occurs every year in July, Australia wide. Here in Kakadu, our wonderful rangers host lots of guided activities all week long. These activities usually include ranger-guided talks at our world-class rock art sites, traditional weaving and painting demonstrations, film and documentary screenings, photo slideshows and more!
The Mahbilil Festival happens in Jabiru in September each year and is a one-day celebration of culture and community. Family activities during the day including weaving, painting and bush foods, followed by an evening program of music and dance.
World Parks Day
If you're in Kakadu for World Parks Day (around mid-September each year) then stop by our Bowali Visitor Centre for some fun!
