Kakadu National Park

Welcome to Kakadu

We can all help look after Kakadu’s future by being responsible visitors and respecting country. This walk explores the tropical savanna woodlands habitat around the Bowali Visitor Centre.

Savanna woodlands provide a wealth of resources for the local Bininj/Mungguy people and cover around 70% of the park. The plants, people and animals have adapted to life in these woodlands.

During this walk, you’ll discover how these elements play an important role for the local Indigenous people and what it means to respect country.

A great walk to take at the beginning of your trip to launch you into your Kakadu adventure.

Easy, 1.5 km return walk.
