Kakadu National Park

Saturdays, 7.30–8.30 pm — Gunlom day use area

The traditional owners in Kakadu have spent thousands of years learning about country.

They’ve learned not only to live off the land, but look after it so that it will continue to flourish.

Jawoyn, who live in the southern areas of the park, continue to play an important role in Kakadu, both working on and looking after country.

Rangers will show you what areas of Kakadu belong to Jawoyn and how they care for them. They’ll share the secrets and techniques learnt in working with these custodians, and how these important lands were handed back to the traditional owners.
