Kakadu National Park

Come participate in painting demonstrations by Injalak Artists at the border store as they impart their expertise on traditional arts

Injalak Arts is an Aboriginal owned and governed non-profit association that has operated an art centre since 1998. The centre is located in Gunbalanya an aboriginal community of around 1,200 residents situated in West Arnhemland in the Northern Territory of Australia only 17km east of the boundary of world heritage listed Kakadu National Park. Our Artits are all Kunwinjku language speakers living in the region, men and women, old and young people.

These Artists create their Arts on-site or in community whilst others live and work on their outstations (homelands) where they actively maintain their ancestral sites, cultural traditional, knowledge and connection to country.
