Kakadu National Park

Monday and Thursday, 4.45–6.15 pm — Meet at the Nawurlandja car park

The ancient landscape of the stone country contrasts greatly with the more recent environment of the billabong below. However, they are intricately linked. This walk reveals the intimate connections between the people, plants, animals and land.

On this walk you’ll learn about Bininj’s cultural and spiritual connection with these contrasting but interconnected habitats. Explore how they’ve grown with this diverse landscape and have adapted to use the available resources efficiently.

You’ll also discover how plants adapt to habitat types, the animals that have a strong connection with the people, plants and land here, and how the sandstone outliers feed the woodland and paperbark swamps.

Steep 1.5 km return walk.
