Swimming at Maguk
This open, sunny plunge pool, surrounded by escarpments, is perfect for a day of swimming and relaxing.
The idyllic tropical rock pool, hidden away from the world by Kakadu’s cliffs, is screened by paperbarks, bamboo and water pandanus.
After a 1 km bushwalk over boulders to the plunge pool, enjoy a picnic on the sandy shoreline, then lie back and let your cares drift away to the sound of the waterfall.
Tip: The clear waters of Maguk have several species of fish so it may be worth bringing some swimming goggles and snorkel.
Reach via Maguk Walk.
