Important COVID-19 update – Visitor restrictions

COVID-19 safety measures remain in place at Kakadu National Park. The Northern Territory Government has implemented a number of health directions to keep the community safe. It is important to comply with the current travel restrictions and to use the Territory Check-In app to register at visitor sites and campgrounds in Kakadu.

In response to the evolving COVID-19 situation in the Northern Territory, Kakadu National Park will close Bowali Visitor Centre until further notice. To minimise the health risks to Kakadu National Park staff, visitors and residents interpretation talks will also cease until further notice.

Anyone who is in a state or area of lockdown should not come to Kakadu National Park. Follow the lockdown protocols regardless of your current location, and follow the directions of the NT Chief Health Officer, particularly in relation to the latest public exposure sites.

While we regret any inconvenience, the wellbeing of our visitors, staff and local communities continues to be our first priority. Parks Australia is committed to taking appropriate precautionary measures to protect the health of all concerned.

Parks Australia is monitoring the situation closely and will provide further updates as it continues to develop.
