Mawurndaddja cultural tour of Arnhem Land

13–16 May 2019 — Departs Jabiru

This was an event at Taste of Kakadu 2019, which has now finished.

We're busy pulling together an even more exciting program for Taste 2020. Join our mailing list below to find out about events, special offers and early release tickets before anyone else does.

This exclusive tour lets guests explore a part of Arnhem Land that tourists rarely get a chance to see.

Run by the team behind Kakadu Cultural Tours and the Guluyambi Cruise, this once-in-a-lifetime excursion takes in the occupation and rock-art sites of Mawurndaddja.

The experience starts with an Indigenous-guided cruise on the East Alligator River before heading across into Arnhem Land.

An expert local guide will lead you through the Mawurndaddja complex, which is home to some of the NT’s oldest and most impressive Aboriginal rock art as well as more recent paintings.

Return to Jabiru, where the combination of ancient and modern continues with Thai-Indigenous fusion canapes, mains and sweets at the Anbinik Restaurant.

This is a rare opportunity to visit a significant Aboriginal site that has only recently opened to a strictly limited number of guests.

Please book directly with Kakadu Cultural Tours by emailing kctres@kakadu.net.au or calling 1800 525 238.
