Hunter family feast at Anbangbang Billabong

12–2.30 pm, 17 May 2019 — Anbangbang Billabong

This was an event at Taste of Kakadu 2019, which has now finished.

We're busy pulling together an even more exciting program for Taste 2020. Join our mailing list below to find out about events, special offers and early release tickets before anyone else does.

Experience a traditional cook-up beside Anbangbang Billabong as guests of a local family.

Your hosts are the Hunters – a well-known Kakadu ranger family who love sharing their culture and heritage through delicious foods and warm hospitality.

Join the family for a cultural food presentation and a lunch of buffalo, potato, pumpkin, sweet potato and water lilies, all slow-cooked in a traditional ground oven set up at dawn.

As you eat and yarn, you can admire the dramatic backdrop and multitude of wildlife in Burrungkuy (Nourlangie), including the many bird species that feed in and around the billabong.
