Australian Marine Parks

Recreational fishing is allowed in 97 per cent of Commonwealth waters within 100 km of the coast.

That means in most cases, you can access your favourite fishing spots in marine parks.

But you can’t fish everywhere. Science has told us it is important to place some ‘no-take’ areas to protect key habitats like fish spawning and feeding grounds. This will make sure we can continue to enjoy the nation’s favourite past-time into the future.

Check the plans to find out where you can fish.
