Twin Falls gorge re-envisioned in Kakadu National Park
Great news for nature lovers and adventure seekers!
The iconic Twin Falls Gorge, nestled in the World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park will reopen in 2026 after a major facelift that’s set to take your experience to the next level.
Artist impressions unveiled today give us a sneak peek at the upcoming upgrades, and trust us, it's worth the wait.
New elevated boardwalks and walkways will wind their way around this breathtaking site, offering unparalleled views of the gorge and its stunning 150-metre-high waterfalls.
A cantilevered staircase will span the escarpment, giving visitors the chance to marvel at the natural beauty from a whole new perspective.
The day-use area, amenities, and car park will also be completely revitalised.
The design was developed in consultation with Traditional Owners and the Aboriginal Areas Protection Authority to ensure the cultural significance of the site is respected every step of the way.
This is part of a broader $216 million infrastructure project supported by the Australian Government, aimed at boosting tourism and creating jobs in the region.
So, mark your calendars—2026 will be a year to remember when Twin Falls reopens in all its upgraded glory.
