Booderee National Park prepares to re-open for day visitors and campers
On Monday, 18 October 2021, Booderee National Park will be open to day visitors from the Shoalhaven Local Government Area (LGA) only.
The Jervis Bay Territory Public Health Emergency Directions currently prohibit anyone from outside of the Shoalhaven LGA from entering the Territory unless they are a resident or an essential worker.
We expect to be able to welcome back visitors from outside of the Shoalhaven LGA in the coming weeks as restrictions continue to ease, and will provide further updates as the public health directions change.
The Booderee Visitor Centre will be open to visitors from 9am to 12pm each day and for phone enquiries between 9am to 4pm (+61 429 008 017). Some restrictions remain in place with Summercloud Bay and Wreck Bay Village remaining closed. The Booderee Botanic Gardens will also be closed temporarily while we continue to make it safe following extensive storm damage.
We encourage visitors to pre-book their park passes before arriving at Booderee National Park.
As part of our staged re-opening, we are also pleased to announce that camping will return from 1 November 2021, with campsite bookings open from Monday (18 October). We will be taking bookings for the period from 1 November to 16 December 2021. However, if state and territory restrictions do not ease further for those outside the Shoalhaven LGA before 1 November your campsite booking may need to be cancelled. Further announcements about camping for dates from mid-December onwards will be made in the coming weeks.
The safety of our staff, community and visitors remains our highest priority and we will continue to monitor and respond to the public health advice. Visitors are also reminded to stay COVID-safe and follow the ACT Health directions and Jervis Bay Territory guidelines.
We thank the community for their patience during this closure period, and we’d like to acknowledge the Booderee National Park and Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community Council staff who have continued to maintain and care for the park during this closure.
Further updates about our staged re-opening will be published on our social media accounts, through email alerts and the news section of our website.
