Booderee National Park - temporary closure
To protect the health and safety of visitors, staff and local communities and to reflect the concerns of Booderee’s Traditional Owners, Parks Australia has today announced that Booderee National Park will undertake a temporary closure from midnight tonight for 48 hours to align with current NSW COVID restrictions.
While we regret the inconvenience caused, the wellbeing of our visitors, staff and local residents continues to be our first priority. Our national park and botanic gardens are treasured places for both locals and visitors alike. Parks Australia is committed to taking appropriate precautionary measures to protect the health of all concerned.
The temporary closure for Booderee National Park in the Jervis Bay Territory will continue until midnight Wednesday 23 December 2020.
The park is currently closed for camping and upon reopening, passes will be available for day use only. Park passes are currently free due to the fee waiver in place until 31 Dec 2020. Visitors planning a visit to the park during the temporary closure can rebook a pass once the park reopens.
Key operational staff will continue with vital work to maintain this significant protected natural and cultural environment while observing recommended hygiene and social distancing practices. We will continue to monitor the advice of medical authorities and the government, and work with Traditional Owners to ensure an appropriate response to the evolving situation.
Further updates will be posted in the news section of the Booderee website.
