Temporary park closure – Friday 28 August 2026

Visitors are advised that Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park will be temporarily closed on Friday 28 August 2026 from 6.00 am to 11.00 am (ACST) for a funeral, following the passing of a senior Aṉangu woman.
The closure has been requested by family members in line with cultural practice and the wishes of Aṉangu Traditional Owners as a mark of respect.
During this time:
- Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park will be closed to all visitors.
- All park roads, walking tracks and visitor areas will be inaccessible.
- The Cultural Centre will also be closed.
- The ranger guided Mala Walk will not operate on this day.
The park will reopen at 11.00 am.
