Respectful closure of Ubirr extended
The respectful closure of Ubirr in Kakadu National Park has been extended following the passing of senior Murrwan-Uringangk Traditional Owner, Mr M. Na-Gangila Bangalang.
The Director of National Parks supports the extension request which was made by the Northern Land Council on behalf of Traditional Owners.
The current closure extension is in place through to 11.59 pm Sunday 20 June 2021.
The Northern Land Council will continue to consult with Traditional Owners and seek their views on an appropriate time to re-open the site.
