Roadworks and amenities upgrades at Booderee National Park
Booderee National Park is undertaking a range of roadworks and amenities upgrades between November 2024 to April 2025.
Cave Beach Road will be subject to roadworks between November to mid-December. The roadworks involve resealing and improving drainage along the sides of the road. Traffic management arrangements will be in place and road users may experience some delays.
Stony Creek Road will be closed from Monday to Friday from November to mid-December for upgrade works.
This project includes:
- culvert remediation and installation
- groundwater management
- resealing areas of the road.
The closure of Stony Creek Road will affect access to Cape St George Lighthouse, Moes Rock and Steamers Beach.
Stony Creek Road will reopen to users on weekends and initial works are expected to be completed by mid-December.
Additional roadworks including the construction of a new bridge to span the existing causeway, will commence in February and run through to April 2025.
In November, work will commence to demolish the existing amenities block at Murrays Beach and to replace it with a new amenities block. During the construction period, a temporary amenities block will be available to visitors located in the Murrays Beach carpark.
These works are being undertaken to improve amenities, road conditions and improve the long-term usage of Stony Creek Road.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and will provide further updates as work progress.
