Pulu Keeling National Park

Huge numbers of birds live in Pulu Keeling National Park.

North Keeling Island’s isolated location, forest habitat, lack of feral predators and limited human impact makes the park a haven for seabirds.

It’s the only seabird breeding colony for 900 km, attracting a variety of species unrivalled by other Indian Ocean islands. 24 different bird species have been recorded here in the last 30 years, with 16 species breeding within the national park.

All of the birds in Pulu Keeling National Park are protected by the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EBPC) Act.
