One of the park’s smallest seabirds, the common noddy grows to about 45 cm in length.

These dark brown birds are common throughout the world’s tropical oceans, and Pulu Keeling National Park is home to around 15,000 of them.

Common noddies live in colonies, with each pair laying a single pink egg in a nest made of sticks and twigs.

They feed by swooping across the water and darting down to catch fish and small squid.
