The largest member of the booby family, masked boobies live on North Keeling Island throughout the year.

They travel further to feed than the park’s other boobies, flying a long way out to sea to fish in the deeper waters.

Masked boobies breed in colonies located in flat, open areas. The Pulu Keeling population lays eggs from January to July, and young birds can be seen between April and December.
