Saving Norfolk Island's endemic land snails

On 17 March 2020 a travel ban was put into effect for arrivals to Norfolk Island. Only residents and essential staff can travel to Norfolk Island until further notice, and anyone returning to the island must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival.

Rare Norfolk cliff plant species on the road to recovery

The Mountain Procris (Elatostema montanum) is endemic to Norfolk Island. It is listed as critically endangered. Only 11 exist in the world naturally, and they are all within Norfolk Island National Park at two locations in the Mount Pitt area.
