Parks Australia is working with partner organisations to eradicate feral cats on Christmas Island.

Feral cats are a major threat to many of Christmas Island’s small native animals, including reptiles, the critically endangered Christmas Island flying fox and birds such as the emerald dove, Christmas Island thrush and red-tailed tropicbird.

Parks Australia is committed to ridding the island of feral cats by 2020. Working with the local council, businesses, community groups and the West Australian Government, we are well on the way to getting rid of these damaging pests.
