A Walk in the Bush
4 to 29 September 2024, 9.30 am - 4.30 pm — Visitor Centre
Featuring works by ACT Porcelain Artists, A Walk in the Bush celebrates the Australian Bush and the beauty and diversity within.
Bugs Alive Exhibition
9 to 13 October, 9.30 am - 4.30 pm — Crosbie Morrison Building
In the Bugs Alive! exhibition at the Gardens, you can see a wild range of invertebrates including prey mantis, stick insects, spiders, scorpions, beetles, snails, butterflies and more.
Embroidered Book Workshop
19 October 2024, 10 am to 4 pm — Dickson room
In this adult workshop participants will make a small book, decorated with embroidered flowers based on the live collection at the Australian National Botanic Gardens.
Garden Promenade
2 - 29 October, 9.30 am - 4.30 pm — Visitor Centre Gallery
Featuring textile works by Sharon Peoples, Garden Promenade speculates on what could have been if Sarah Sophia Banks had travelled to Australia instead of only her brother, Sir Joseph Banks.
Botanists have named trees and also had trees named in their honour.
Australian, British, French and German botanists have made outstanding contributions to Australian science.
On this free guided walk see some of the trees and hear stories that encompass adventure, mystery, sex and even murder!
Meet at the clock near the bridge. No booking required for individuals but groups of more than six people should contact walks@friendsanbg.org.au a week before the planned walk.
