TREE-Scapes Charcoal Drawing En Plein Air Workshop
Join us for a hands-on drawing activity with local artist John Pratt.
John will share his love for expressive drawing through a range of graphic responses to trees from the ‘gestural’ to the more sustained observational account.
Trees have been an enduring presence throughout art history and particularly in the context of Australian Art. They have been a critical part of the landscape genre and have also taken on Mythic and symbolic significance in a range of historical narratives. As sculptural forms they also seem endlessly inventive in their response to the surrounding terrain.
The Workshop is suitable for all levels of experience.
John will take you for a walk to draw in the Gardens. Please wear suitable clothing – if wet weather this will move indoors.
