Christmas Island National Park

With its outstanding sunset views, Martin Point is a wonderful place to end a day on Christmas Island.

It’s a short walk from the carpark to a viewing platform on the edge of the cliff. There is a picnic table here, so you can sit back and take in the glorious views of the west coast and offshore reef.

Martin Point is one of the best spots on the island for a sunset photo – as the sun sinks over the Indian Ocean, the whole coastline gets bathed in a beautiful golden light.

There’s plenty to keep birdwatchers happy as well. The trees above you are home to red-footed boobies, while brown boobies make their homes on the sea cliffs nearby.
