Booderee National Park

This grassy camping area is set amongst coastal tea trees and is ideal for lightweight camping. Those looking to escape life as we know it will feel at home in this incredible location.

With easy access to Cave Beach, a beautiful surfing spot, and in walking distant of Sussex Inlet and other picturesque locations, there’s no better place for small groups or couples to spend the night.

Also in walking distance is Bherwherre Beach, another good surfing spot which is great for a swim too. It’s also a prime location to spot some of our rarer seabirds. Ryans Swamp attracts many waterbirds such as swamp hens, egrets and ducks, and is also home to numerous frogs, snakes and turtles.

There is also a day use area for use by beach visitors. Toilet and other public amenities are available at this site.

The camping area is 300 m from the carpark and all equipment must be carried in.

Amenities include:

  • fresh water
  • public toilets
  • cold-water showers
  • a sheltered gas barbecue area
  • wood barbecues.

Rules

  • All campsites are marked, and camping is permitted inside the marked camping sites only.
  • Each campsite is 5 m by 5 m. If your camping equipment can’t fit into that space you will need to book an additional campsite.
  • A reminder that you need to carry your camping equipment from the carpark about 300m to your campsite.
  • Bookings are essential. Camping outside the marked campsites, or without a booking, is an offence which may incur fines.
  • Please do not disturb the ground. Tent pegs are ok but do not dig in this area under any circumstances.
  • No open fires are permitted. All fires must be within the designated fire pits provided.

Tents must be smaller than 3 m x 4.5 m.
