Australian National Botanic Gardens

Thurs 18 April and Fri 19 April, 10 am and 1 pm — Banksia Centre

Come and join Ronnie Jordan, a Kalkadoon Pitta Pitta woman who will share her traditional ecological knowledge with you.

Enjoy a hands-on experience where you and your child can each create a woven bush animal. The workshop inspires a connection to Aboriginal culture, and both children and adults will learn techniques of the age-old art of traditional weaving.

Before you begin why not explore the Gardens to inspire something truly unique.

Ronnie is a qualified professional weaver and artist and has delivered weaving and art workshops to government agencies, community groups, schools, events and corporations.

All materials supplied (wool and straw). Each participant will receive a weaving pack to take home. Pack includes: materials, tote bag, full weaving guide and a needle.

Suitable for ages 3+ years. Children aged 3 - 7 years must be accompanied by a participating adult.
