Ubirr Culture & Sunset Experience with Campfire Yarn
Join local Bininj Elder, Alfred Nayinggul for a truly special cultural experience. Explore the natural beauty along this walk and marvel at some of the finest examples of x-ray rock art paintings. Learn fascinating stories of law, land and culture that have represented the Bininj/Mungguy people for thousands of years.
After the stunning rock art sites, walk up a short 250m climb to a rocky lookout with breath-taking 360-degree views of Arnhem Land and the Nadab floodplain at sunset!
Please meet your guide at the shelter inside the Ubirr walk which is located next to the carpark.
*Following sunset, Alfred Nayinggul invites you to join him at Merl Campground for a yarn around the campfire (if time permits). Merl Campground is located nearby to Ubirr.
- Time required: 3-4 hours
- Distance: 1 km loop track around main gallery, plus short 250m climb to sunset lookout
- Grade: Easy to moderate
- Accessibility: The area around the main art site is flat and accessible to wheelchairs.

For cultural reasons, alcohol is not permitted at Ubirr.
