The Australian Government has announced a $39.9 million investment in Australian Marine Park partnerships as part of a broader $100 million Ocean Leadership package.

The funding will support us to continue to take a global lead in marine park management by:

• delivering additional rounds of the Our Marine Parks Grants program which creates opportunities for community, Indigenous organisations and industry to further engage and connect with the management of our marine parks
• undertake ocean discovery research and park restoration projects to help us understand more about our marine environment
• support the health and sustainability of the waters around Australia’s Indian Ocean Territories

This vital investment will help our ongoing protection of the unique marine environments around our country, provide places for recreation and support the livelihoods of Australians by creating jobs in the tourism and fishing sectors.
