Are you interested in being a member of an Australian Marine Park Advisory Committee?
Australian Marine Park Advisory Committees (AMPACs) advise the Director of National Parks on the management of Australian Marine Parks (AMP) and are established under AMP management plans (2018-28).
AMPACs have been meeting under the current terms of reference since early 2019, but membership ceases on 30 June 2023. So, we will soon be running an expression of interest (EOI) process for membership, under an updated Terms of Reference.
We’re seeking members who can contribute to outcomes under one or more of our management programs:
- Communication, education and awareness
- Tourism and visitor experience
- Indigenous engagement
- Marine science
- Assessments and authorisations
- Park protection and management
- Compliance.
If you think you can contribute to advising on the management of AMPs over the next five years, keep your eye out for the AMPAC EOI process which will be released in late July 2023.
Note: the South-east Marine Park Network and Christmas Island Marine Park and Cocos (Keeling) Island Marine Park are managed under separate advisory arrangements to AMPACs.
