Pelagic fact sheets
Department of the Environment and Heritage and CSIRO, 2005.
About the fact sheets
The pelagic fact sheets describe and summarise key properties of water masses in Australia’s oceans. Water masses are divided into those that are visible at the sea surface, and those that do not reach the sea surface.
Fact sheets about surface water masses contain a map of the extent of the water mass at the sea surface and maps of substructure of the water mass, plus information about its physical properties.
Fact sheets about sub-surface water masses contain a map of the extent of the water mass plotted at its average depth, plus key data about physical properties of the water mass.
