Draft management plan – consultation now open

Comments are invited on the draft management for the South-east Marine Parks Network.

The previous South-east Commonwealth Marine Reserves Network Management Plan expired on 30 June 2023. The Director of National Parks has prepared a new Draft Management Plan for the South-east Network.

Comments must be submitted in writing via the Have your say website no later than 11.30 pm AEDT on Thursday 14 November 2024.

The comments will be considered by the Director of National Parks when finalising the management plan, before providing it to the Minister for the Environment for approval.

The South-east Network is being managed under transitional arrangements until a new management plan is finalised.

The Draft Plan includes a disclaimer that it is not formally endorsed by Traditional Owners. Parks Australia will undertake targeted First Nations engagement in parallel to the public comment period to ensure First Nations are actively engaged in the public comment process.
