Draft management plan – consultation closed

From 11 October to 14 November 2024, comments were invited on the draft management for the South-east Marine Parks Network.

The previous South-east Commonwealth Marine Reserves Network Management Plan expired on 30 June 2023.

The comments are being considered by the Director of National Parks to finalise the management plan, before providing it to the Minister for the Environment for approval.

The South-east Network will continue to be managed under transitional arrangements until a new management plan is finalised.

The Draft Plan included a disclaimer that it is not formally endorsed by Traditional Owners. Parks Australia continues to undertake targeted First Nations engagement.
